Srivijayan Empire
Warfare Fact #1
Through the Placement of their Empire, they were able to control one of the only ways to pass through Indonesia from Europe, the Straits of Malacca. By being able to control this, they were able to command trade routes, and also fight off invaders of their land. This affected all the other islands of Indonesia and all the different Empires during that time. Without this massive military and economical lead, the Empire would not have flourished the way it did. |
Warfare Fact #2
Surprisingly enough, there were not a lot of ship-to-ship battles during this time. You would think that there would be considering the amount of seas and oceans that they have surrounding them. This was because even though there were shipping routes, the boats were not created in a way that would be durable enough to survive through a battle, as both parties would most likely die. |
